Somewhat helpful math textbook, but explanations are not as complete as needed for understanding. Some limited answers are in the back of the book but these too are not as complete as needed.

 "Entertaining But Abrupt Ending" 2010-01-31
By Francis Avish (Atlanta, GA)
Ms. Musser has written another engaging novel with interesting twists and turns. She sets up an interesting challenge for her central character: how does she deal with being involved in an accident that tragically kills her mother? The author introduces a host of characters whose lives are intertwined, only the reader is not sure how.

My challenge with the novel was that the ending was too abrupt for some of the characters. I think the strength of Ms. Musser's earlier novels was that the faith transformation of the characters was believable. In WORDS UNSPOKEN, I think the author attempted to have too many transformations and skipped the necessary steps that the characters needed to go through to experience them.

Thought the protagonist's journey was believable, but those of the supporting characters were weak.

"Great whether or not you've read Swan House" 2005-09-11
By R. Grant (Macon, GA)
The Dwelling Place is a terrific read, whether or not you've read The Swan House. It's a great stand-alone story of a young woman (Ellie) who doesn't seem to fit into her "perfect" family, and her journey to get to know them, and herself. If you have read The Swan House, however, it's intriguing to see those returning characters from a different angle-from Ellie's point of view. There is a gap of several decades between the two stories, and there are a number of mysteries as to how events unfolded in that time period. Why do Carl Matthews and Mary Swan (and their respective spouses) now have such a strained relationship? How did Ellie's face get disfigured, and was it truly Mary Swan's fault, as Ellie believes? What happened on Rachel and Mary Swan's trip to Europe as young women that shaped their lives forever? As Ellie digs for the answers to these questions, you are caught up in the events of Ellie's life in the present, and of the story of the Bartholomew family from the tumultuous sixties to the current day.

"Feel like you are losing a friend when you finish this book." 2008-08-24
By Lori Kasbeer (Florida)
There are some books that you read and enjoy, there are others you read and are relaxed, and then there are the books that become part of your life. When I finished "Searching for Eternity" by Elizabeth Musser I felt like I lost a friend.

French born Emile de Bonnery is dragged to America by his Mother. His French Father has suddenly disappeared, and Emile finds himself in Atlanta trying to adjust to cultural shock. The only welcome face Emile and his Mother had was his Maternal Grandmother, who he has never met until that day, at the age of 14.

Emile is faced with unfriendly kids at school and is left to fend for himself until he meets Eternity. Emile is trying to solve the mystery of his Father's disappearance and Eternity is trying to deal with her own secrets. They strike up friendship and help each other face their past.

This book faces racism and the civil rights movement, but also scars that were left over from World War II. The common theme of this book is standing up for what is right, even when no one else will. Choices in life are not always solved in a years times period, change happens slowly over a lifetime. This is a book of great depth and of God's faithfulness. It is not light reading material, but a book I highly recommend.

 "Warm Cheer for Christmas!" 2008-11-24
By Kevin Nielsen
I loved this CD. It has my favorite songs from Christmas. I found myself lingering on sweet memories and associations that these songs bring, such as attending Christmas eve services followed by a bounteous meal. The music is clear, and although the selections are well-known, they come across feeling fresh. During a time when so much is overwrought about Christmas, it is a real pleasure to take in the simple beauty of these songs. I particularly liked What Child is This and Winter From the Four Seasons. This is definitely worth getting.

 "Pure Gold!" 2001-06-20

Here is a great family movie of adventure, determination, heroism, and bravery. Plus, it's set back in the late 1800s, which makes it even more interesting. Fizzy (Alyssa Milano) leaves her high society life in New York and sets out for Alaska in search of gold. It's an adventurous, courageous storyline, and Alyssa is fabulous at playing the innocent, wholesome, confident, no-nonsense, caring and lovely Fizzy...a great role-model. This is one of my favorite movies. It is a movie to be watched again and again and will inspire you and enrich your life without a doubt. Not only is the storyline excellent, but the movie also has fabulous scenery and music and is wonderfully directed. This movie is as good as gold!
